Dr. Maureen Finnane
Educational Psychologist
Maureen is a psychologist with many years of
experience working with children and their families to understand and
address developmental and learning problems.
With a Masters
degree and Ph.D in Education, Maureen specializes in the area of
mathematical learning difficulties. Maureen offers comprehensive
cognitive and mathematics assessments and interventions to students
facing significant problems understanding maths concepts, remembering
basic arithmetic facts, or experiencing maths anxiety.
Maureen enjoys working with students, families and teachers, not only to build mathematical skills but to enhance student confidence and enjoyment of mathematics. Maureen helps students to set their own goals for learning, and uses a games-based approach to increase student motivation.
Maureen is available to run workshops for teachers to assist in understanding the nature of mathematical learning difficulties or dyscalculia, and to discuss effective interventions for building mathematical understanding, fluency and problem solving skills.
