An educational and developmental psychologist, Sali initially studied in
New Zealand. She has worked in the United States, and has been a registered psychologist in Queensland since 1992.
Sali works with young children, primary students, high school students and
their families to investigate and understand learning and associated problems.
She also works with adults who are studying at TAFE, university or for professional
exams, assessing learning problems or issues, and helping with study strategies.
Sali helps children and adults understand their personal strengths and weaknesses
through an in-depth consideration of their individual circumstances and preferences,
and careful assessment of relevant skills.
Sali's experience is broad, and includes working with people with learning
difficulties, learning disabilities, dyslexia, intellectual impairments,
giftedness, speech and language disorders, anxiety and attention problems.
She enjoys helping parents to understand their children's development and
behaviour, and to develop more effective parenting skills.
Since the establishment in Brisbane of postgraduate programs in
educational and developmental psychology, Sali has been involved in
teaching and supervision of trainee psychologists. She has served on
the Queensland committee of the Australian Psychological Society's
College of Educational and Developmental Psychologists, on the
Management Committee of the Queensland Association for Gifted and
Talented Children, and on the national committee of the Australian
Learning Disabilities Association. She has delivered presentations,
workshops and professional development seminars to schools, TAFE and
university staff and conferences.
